goldtonew

Goldtonew converts a grades file from the format used by the old version of the grades programs to the format used by the new programs ... mostly.

Usage

goldtonew [file]

Details

Goldtonew converts its input file from the format used in the old version of the grading files to the format used in the new version.

If no file is specified, goldtonew takes its input from the standard input.

What cannot be converted

All student records are converted from the old version to the new version. However, goldtonew does only minimal conversion on the header, leaving two things for you to do by hand:

• A group of several marks -- the kind that have weights that will be applied to the marks after they are arranged in order of descending value -- must be turned into the argument of a $desc function.
• Additive terms must be turned into the argument of a $add function.

Changes since the previous version

Goldtonew, not surprisingly, did not exist in the old version of the grading programs.
