24-25 Team From left to right, our ambassadors: Helen, Sarah, Raghav, and Riyad.

  • Helen Li is in her fourth and final year of the computer science specialist and statistics major programs. For industry experiences, she completed 3 software and product internships at Microsoft and got invited to competitive, immersive programs at quantitative trading firms. On campus, she has been conducting human-centered artificial intelligence research for almost 3 years now, and has been involved with Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), Blueprint, and Women in Computer Science (WiCS). A fun fact about Helen is that she has random bursts of courage, so she enjoys trying new extreme sports (her current favorite is tandem skydiving!).

  • Sarah Walker is in her fourth year of a computer science specialist program and has been a DCS Ambassador for the last ~2 years. She has a variety of research experiences, especially in fields such as computational linguistics, AI & medicine & equity, and neurosymbolic learning. Aside from that, she has broad interests; relating to CS, she has been part of two different Hatchery startups, was a Hack the North winner, and led a project in UTMIST. More generally, Sarah loves to read and write and is running a book club called UofT Reads Student Club—all are welcome to join!

  • Raghav Sinha is a third-year student majoring in Economics and Statistics with a minor in Computer Science. He has interned at CGI in tech consulting and at Strathcona Resources in crude oil pricing and risk management, so he is happy to answer questions about data science, finance, and economics. He is also available to chat about workplace success strategies! A fun fact about Raghav is that he enjoys cooking and experimenting with new dishes—some turn out great, others… not so much!

  • Riyad Valiyev is a third-year student specializing in Computer Science. His experiences in and outside of U of T include a software developer role at a Canadian AI start-up, an executive role in the largest European youth organization that advocates for youth involvement in cultural diplomacy, and an internship at the Faculty of Arts and Science as a Student Mentor. On campus, he is the Infrastructure Director at U of T Machine Intelligence Student Team (UTMIST) and Software Developer at U of T Blueprint. He was also previously the Undergraduate Research Lead in Youreka Toronto, where he led two research teams working on sustainable technologies.
