The 2023-2024 Ambassadors Team—comprised of six students—crafted various blog posts and provided the student perspective for the department at events like Fall Campus Day and Program Exploration Day. Each ambassador also pursued individual projects.
- Helen and Rue supported career-related events, such as hosting weekly mock technical interviews and regularly updating the department’s job board with internship and new grad opportunities. While Rue initiated the career resources guide as her personal project, Helen created and managed the coffee chat mentoring program.
- Kurtis and Sarah supported outreach events via student volunteers recruitment and training. Kurtis also took professional headshots for many students on a booking basis, and Sarah built a guide to help students get started with machine learning.
- Adel and Ali supported community events. In particular, Ali cumulated a list of events and opportunities that would be beneficial for the computer science community, and this list became a part of the department’s weekly emails to students. Adel created a guide for entrepreneurship-focused resources on campus and interviewed a professor on his book launch.
